This lesson will explore the reasons why 4th Quarter marriages fail, how to safeguard against those things, and action steps to keep your marriage strong for the sake of your children and grandchildren.

starting a group at your church

If your church does not have an existing ministry to senior saints, God may be leading you to start one! Here are some suggested steps to get going:

Pray

Ask God to lead you, open doors, and provide the support and help you'll need to launch a 4th Quarter Group in your church.

Share the vision with your pastor and church leadership, asking them for their blessing on the ministry.

Utilize

Utilize the 4th Quarter Champions Bible Study to launch small groups to spread the vision.

Group size

Determine how often the large group will meet. Most groups meet monthly.

time

Determine when the large group will meet - during the day or in the evening. Daytime groups are typically designed for retirement age (65+). Since the 4th Quarter officially begins at age 60, we suggest an evening meeting to include everyone.

Format

Determine the format of each meeting. It's often a good idea to incorporate a meal to allow time for fellowship. Other elements can include worship and prayer and speakers related to the five areas of the Bible study: Faith, Family, Fitness, Finances, and Final Approach.

Announce

Announce the start of the large group and small group Bible studies to the church. Make sure to include personal invitations as well.

Host

Host times to interact with other people of other ages within the church to promote intergenerational ministry.
